Roland VR-6HD

hold

Roland all-in-one with six HDMI inputs and a direct LAN stream. Hold against ATEM Mini Pro ISO.

Why this is here: the current Roland all-in-one after the VR-1HD stopped being a normal in-stock cart. It is not the default buy. It is not a camera.

Do we buy a Roland instead of ATEM? Most small churches do not. ATEM Mini Pro ISO stays recommend: four HDMI inputs, record plus stream, a cut bus a substitute can hit after one rehearsal. This page is the hold for the Roland VR-6HD.

The VR-1HD is the box people still name. Roland’s global VR-1HD page is still up (system program 1.24, January 2025) and does not use the discontinued banner Roland puts on the VR-4HD. It is not a current in-stock buy. PlanetDJ’s page says discontinued or no longer available. Kraft Music listed it at $995.00 as a special order, not as stock on the shelf. A public search snapshot of the B&H VR-1HD page the same day showed the words No Longer Available. Direct B&H fetches returned HTTP 403, so that snapshot is not a confirmed cart.

Roland Japan marks the older VR-4HD as sales ended and names the VR-6HD as the successor. That is the all-in-one still sold for a small church.

Who it is for

Workflow, not the Roland name. A direct LAN stream plus an onboard mic mixer is the useful difference. HDMI count is the other one.

If you only buy one switcher for a small church, buy the Pro ISO. Open that page first.

Standout details

Facts from the Roland VR-6HD product page and specifications (fetched 2026-09-22). Prefer the spec table when the product story disagrees. Street price is from Markertek and Geartechs the same day. B&H and Sweetwater returned HTTP 403, so those carts are not a price source.

Rechecked 2026-10-20: B&H listed the VR-6HD at $2,749.99 in stock, unchanged.

Earlier check, 2026-09-22: Markertek VR-6HD $2,749.99 in stock (ROL-VR-6HD). Geartechs $2,749.99, listed InStock. Pro Broadcast Supply $2,749.99, out of stock on that fetch. Roland publishes no street price on the product page. B&H and Sweetwater returned HTTP 403. Confirm the cart. No affiliate link on this page.

Honest verdict

Hold. Buy ATEM Mini Pro ISO unless the church has already decided it wants Roland’s all-in-one (onboard XLR mix, direct LAN stream, no laptop) and can absorb about $2,750.

Six HDMI inputs are not a reason by themselves. Two to four HDMI sources are a Pro ISO room. Five to eight HDMI sources are the ATEM Mini Extreme question, and that page is also a hold. A second camera does not make you a Roland church. Read when a small church should add a second camera and when to buy a hardware switcher before you open this cart.

Skip the VR-6HD if you have one or two cameras in OBS and nobody is fighting the software switch. That money belongs on a camera or a mic. Skip it if a late substitute only needs a lit camera button. That is Pro ISO.

Honest limits: HDMI only, no native SDI, 1080p not 4K, USB 2.0 webcam out drops to 640x480, and the spec table says stream/record above 1080p30 cannot run at the same time as the video player or SRT input. Markertek states a 1-year warranty. This box does not replace Pro ISO, and it does not replace Move SE.
