Verdict: hold
YoloBox
Why this is here: second hardware switcher / encoder SKU after ATEM Mini. It is not a camera.
An all-in-one portable livestream switcher, encoder, monitor, and recorder from YoloLiv. Current family you can still buy new is YoloBox Pro (YoloLiv only), YoloBox Ultra, and YoloBox Extreme. You cut cameras on a built-in touchscreen and stream from the box. No laptop required.
This does not replace a Move SE. It sits after the cameras, the same way ATEM Mini does. The difference is the workflow. ATEM is a cheaper hardware cut-bus plus encoder that still wants a computer nearby (OBS, ProPresenter, a volunteer laptop). YoloBox is the computer-free tablet with HDMI inputs.
Who it is for
Seat count and source count, not marketing names. How many HDMI sources you actually switch is the useful number. Price versus ATEM Mini Pro ISO (about $500 to $585) is the other one.
| Sources / room | What you actually get | Fit |
|---|---|---|
| Already on OBS or ATEM Mini, 2 to 4 HDMI, sanctuary YouTube/Facebook | A second switcher you do not need | Hold. Keep the ATEM or OBS path. That money belongs on a camera or a mic. |
| Explicit no-laptop ask, or vertical/social (Instagram, TikTok) plus YouTube | Touchscreen box, 4 HDMI, 4K, ISO, no laptop | Recommend Ultra if you are buying a YoloBox at all. Hero for that use case. |
| 3 HDMI, 1080p only, want the cheaper YoloBox | Pro: 3 HDMI, 1080p60 max, program record to SD (not ISO) | Hold Pro. B&H has discontinued it. The gap to Ultra is real (ISO, 4th HDMI, 4K). Buy Ultra or buy ATEM. |
| 5 to 8 HDMI, or free NDI (ProPresenter over IP), budget about $2,300 | Extreme: 8 HDMI, 4K, ISO, free NDI, no laptop | Extreme only if that I/O is real and you already rejected ATEM Extreme. |
| One camera, leftover Mini | Mini is discontinued. Not in the current YoloLiv catalog. | Skip. Gone. Not a buy option. |
If you only buy one YoloBox for a small church that has already decided it wants this family, buy the Ultra.
Volunteer skill
- Touchscreen cut on Ultra / Pro: Sunday-viable after one rehearsal. A volunteer who can tap the camera tile and leave overlays alone.
- Lower thirds, scoreboard, chroma key, replay: needs a dry run. Do not invent graphics on the first live Sunday.
- NDI, cellular bonding, multi-destination social, ISO record settings: a trained volunteer, not the person who also runs lyrics and the pastor mic.
- Extreme feature depth (8 HDMI, free NDI, telestration, Stream Deck): same trained-volunteer bar as ATEM Extreme. Not a first-Sunday box.
Standout details
Facts from live B&H and YoloLiv carts plus manufacturer pages (fetched 2026-09-06). Prefer B&H cart copy where YoloLiv marketing disagrees on HDMI count. Prefer YoloLiv tech specs for encode limits.
- Current buyable family: Ultra and Extreme at B&H and YoloLiv. Pro is still $999 on YoloLiv (PRO-NA) and listed discontinued at B&H. Mini is discontinued and not in the current YoloLiv catalog. Mentioned here only as gone.
- This line is HDMI-centric. No native SDI camera inputs. If your PTZs are SDI-only, you need converters. This is not a camera and does not replace Move SE. No laptop required on any current box.
- YoloBox Pro: 3 HDMI, 1080p60 max, program record to SD (not ISO). No laptop. NDI is a $99 one-time activation. YoloLiv $999. B&H: discontinued, no current price.
- YoloBox Ultra: 4 HDMI (B&H cart. Some YoloLiv copy says 5. Prefer B&H). 4K, ISO, no laptop. Official store and B&H $1,499 sale (was $1,599), B&H in stock (MFR ULTRA, BH YOYBULT). Hero if you are buying a YoloBox. NDI is $99 one-time activation. Bonding extra.
- YoloBox Extreme: 8 HDMI, 4K, ISO, free NDI, no laptop. Official store and B&H $2,299, B&H in stock (MFR EXTREME, BH YOEXTREME). Buy it only if that I/O is real and you can absorb about $2,300.
- Extras that raise the real bill: NDI activation $99 (Pro / Ultra). Network bonding from $29 per month on the official store. SIM data, USB modems, cages, and YoloDeck are separate.
- Audio: line in and mic in on 3.5 mm. No native XLR on Ultra or Extreme. Pastor mic still wants a mixer.
- Warranty is one year. Status on this site uses words (recommend / hold / skip), not color-only cues.
Street prices, 2026-09-06, live carts: Extreme $2,299 at B&H and YoloLiv. Ultra $1,499 sale (was $1,599) at B&H and YoloLiv. Pro $999 at YoloLiv only. B&H lists Pro discontinued. Confirm the cart. No affiliate link on this page.
Honest verdict
Hold the YoloBox family for a typical small church that should buy ATEM Mini Pro ISO first.
ATEM Mini Pro ISO is about $500 to $585. It is a hardware cut-bus and encoder into an OBS or laptop workflow most volunteer teams already understand. YoloBox Ultra is $1,499 before NDI or bonding. You pay that premium for a touchscreen box that does not need a laptop, plus easier vertical/social destinations. That is a real product. It is not the default Sunday buy when ATEM already covers YouTube and Facebook.
Recommend Ultra only if you have already decided you want the computer-free box, or you need vertical Instagram/TikTok plus a horizontal church stream and you do not want a separate encoder. Ultra is the sensible current mid/high pick inside this family.
Hold Pro unless you are buying from YoloLiv on purpose and you are sure you will never want ISO, a fourth HDMI, or 4K. B&H has already dropped it. Skip Extreme unless five to eight HDMI sources (or free NDI) are real and the budget is already at about $2,300. YoloLiv’s own compare pitches Extreme for ProPresenter-over-NDI churches. If ProPresenter already runs on a computer, you already have a computer. ATEM plus that computer is the cheaper path.
Skip Mini. It is discontinued.
Skip the whole family if you only have one or two cameras going into OBS and nobody is fighting the software switch. That money belongs on a second camera or a better mic, not here.
Honest limits: HDMI only, no native SDI, no native XLR, NDI and bonding can cost extra on Pro / Ultra, one-year warranty. This box does not replace Move SE. It sits after the cameras.
