PTZOptics Move SE

A 1080p PTZ camera with built-in auto-tracking. Three zoom bodies (12x, 20x, 30x), gray or white. HDMI, 3G-SDI, USB-C, and IP at the same time. Power from the included 12V brick or from PoE.

This is the Standard Edition of PTZOptics’ Move line. It is not 4K. That is the point for most small-church streams.

Who it is for

Seat count and room, not marketing names. Official tracking distance is the useful number.

Volunteer skill

USB-C into a laptop running OBS or Wirecast: a Sunday volunteer who can plug in a cable and leave presets alone.
HDMI or SDI into a switcher: someone who already runs a hardware or software switcher.
PoE plus NDI: needs a PoE switch and a firmware check. Not the first Sunday.

Auto-tracking is the reason a one-person team can run this. It is not a second camera operator. It will still lose the pastor in a dim sanctuary, or when the worship team fills the frame.

Facts from the G3 spec sheet and the current PTZOptics product pages (fetched 2026-08-29):

1080p60 on HDMI, 3G-SDI, USB-C, and IP. Sony 1/2.8 inch CMOS, 2.07M pixels. Not 4K.
Auto-tracking is built in. 12x tracks to 60 ft, 20x to 100 ft, 30x to 120 ft.
Simultaneous HDMI + 3G-SDI + USB-C + IP. A laptop, a switcher, and a stream encoder can all take a feed.
PoE (802.3af) or 12V. One Ethernet drop can do power, control, and video.
255 presets, VISCA / Pelco over RS-232 and RS-485, IR remote in the box.
H.264 / H.265 / MJPEG. RTSP, RTMP/RTMPS, SRT.
NDI HX3 is native on current firmware. Older reseller copy still says “paid upgrade.” That copy is stale. Check firmware on the camera web UI (System Settings, then Check Firmware) so you are not arguing with a 2023 listing.
Five-year warranty. That is the real gap versus no-name Amazon PTZs.
Indoor only. 0.5 lux at F1.8 with AGC on. Fine for a typical sanctuary; not a night-exterior camera.
Colors: gray or white. Status on this site uses words, not color-only cues.

Honest verdict

Recommend the 20x for a small church that streams 1080p to YouTube or Facebook, has one or two volunteers, and does not need 4K.

Buy the 12x only if the room is short and you want the wider 72.5° shot. Buy the 30x only if the camera sits far back and 20x cannot fill a face.

Skip the whole Move SE line if you already know you need 4K, a cinema look, or a sensor that holds up under theatrical lighting. That money belongs on Move 4K, not here.

Auto-tracking is worth it for a one-person Sunday. It is not worth pretending the camera will follow a pastor into the aisles in the dark. Set presets for wide, pulpit, and music stand. Use tracking as a helper, not the only plan.

If your switcher is NDI, update firmware before you assume the license is missing. PTZOptics made NDI HX3 a free firmware path in 2024. Reseller pages have not all caught up.

Compared with cheap no-name PTZs: you pay more, you get a five-year warranty, docs, and a body that talks to Wirecast, OBS, vMix, and a VISCA joystick. That is the trade a volunteer tech team can actually live with.
