SL100D
Default stand-mount daylight COB fill when a dim sanctuary makes a PTZ noisy on faces. Pair with a softbox or bounce.
Why this is here: first lights SKU after HCM-1 mounts. It is not a camera or a switcher. It is sanctuary face fill when a dim room makes a Move SE noisy on faces.
A Godox daylight COB monolight. Hero SKU is SL100D. About 100W, 5600K, Bowens S front, AC only. Pair it with a softbox or bounce. This fixture does not replace Move SE, an ATEM Mini, or HCM-1.
Who it is for
Dim room and AC near the pulpit, not a studio package. Whether the sanctuary is too dark for a PTZ on faces is the real question.
| Need / room | What you actually get | Fit |
|---|---|---|
| Dim sanctuary, volunteer needs pulpit or face fill for a Move SE stream | About 100W daylight COB on a stand, Bowens S, about $179 street | Recommend SL100D on a stand with Softbox 60×90. |
| Already bright windows or house lights good enough | A light you do not need | Skip. |
| Need battery, or no AC near the pulpit | AC-only fixture, cable in the box | Hold. This fixture is AC-only. |
| Tight budget or a smaller room | Less output, less money | Hold SL60IID (max 70W, cheaper sibling) rather than buying two wrong lights. |
| Full cinematic multi-light kit | One useful fill light | Hold. This page is one useful fill light, not a studio package. |
If you only buy one fill light for a small church with a dim sanctuary and a Move SE, buy SL100D and a softbox or umbrella, then put it on a stand.
Volunteer skill
- One person who can plug in AC, put a light on a stand, and dim it so faces look even, not blasted.
- Softbox or bounce is the job. The reflector in the box is a start, not a sanctuary look.
- Godox app or the on-fixture dials. Bluetooth, 32 channels, 16 groups. A volunteer can dim from the back row after the first Sunday setup.
- Not a two-person lighting crew. Not a first-Sunday “point the bare COB at the pastor” job either.
Standout details
Facts from the B&H SL100D product page and live retailer carts (fetched 2026-09-14). Prefer B&H specs for photometrics and power. Prefer live carts for the hero street price.
- 5600K daylight. CRI 96 / TLCI 97. Dim 0 to 100%.
- About 100W. AC 100 to 240V. Power cable included. AC-only (no V-mount battery plate).
- Bowens S front mount. Reflector included. Companion Softbox 60×90 (SB-NBM 6090) is the recommend Bowens face-fill page, about $40 street.
- Godox app over Bluetooth. 32 channels / 16 groups.
- Photometrics with the included reflector: about 32,100 lux / 2982 fc at 3.3 ft / 1 m.
- Fixture about 3.5 lb / 1.6 kg. 5/8” receiver for light stands.
- Quiet fan cooling (not silent). FX modes exist. Church fill does not need them.
- Fan note: honest limit for quiet pastor close-mics if the light sits near the pulpit. Park it off-axis and dim it, or the fan can sit in the lav.
- Adjacent SL60IID: max 70W on Godox.com, about 18,600 lux at 1 m with the reflector. Hold on its own page when the room is smaller or the budget is tight. It does not take this recommend.
- Amaran 100d S was the preferred hero pick. B&H lists it no longer available. Godox SL100D won because it is in stock at $179, Bowens S, and bright enough for face fill.
- This is not a camera. Move SE is the default back-wall PTZ this fill is for. Related pages: Softbox 60×90, Move SE, ATEM Mini, HCM-1.
Rechecked 2026-10-20: B&H listed the SL100D at $179.00 in stock, unchanged.
Earlier check, 2026-09-14, live carts: B&H Godox SL100D $179.00 in stock (BH# GOSL100D, MFR #SL100D). Adorama Godox SL100D $179.00 (SKU GOSL100D, MFR SL100D). That is the hero street price. The SL60IID cart dated 2026-09-22 is on that page. Confirm the cart. No affiliate link on this page.
Honest verdict
Recommend SL100D as the first lights ladder item for small-church sanctuary fill: about $179 street, Bowens ecosystem, stand-mount, bright enough for face fill.
Honest limits: AC-only, the fan is not silent, you still need a stand plus a softbox or umbrella (not in the monolight box as a full kit), this does not replace a camera, switcher, or audio path, and it is daylight-only (not bi-color).
