- SL100D plus a softbox, or a cheap LED panel?
- Buy SL100D plus Softbox 60×90 when a dim sanctuary makes a Move SE noisy on faces. The head throws the light. The softbox is the modifier that softens it. They are one path, not two competing fixtures. Hold or skip a cheap LED panel as the key light. Panels in that class are not a listing here. A flat panel is easy to clip on a stand, and it is also easy to leave harsh on faces. If windows or house lights already keep faces clean, skip a new light. Read one volunteer Sunday, under ~150 seats, and the buyer’s guide.
- Is the softbox a second light?
- No. Softbox 60×90 is a Bowens modifier for the SL100D. It does not replace the head, and it does not throw light on its own. Skip it only if you already have a Bowens softbox or umbrella that softens faces. The light stand is buy-separately hold. It is not a listing here. Bare COB aimed at the pastor, with no softbox or bounce, is a skip look.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SL100D | recommend | Daylight COB light head. Stand-mount face fill when a dim sanctuary makes a PTZ noisy on faces. AC only, Bowens S front. | About 100W, 5600K. With the included reflector, about 32,100 lux at 1 m (3.3 ft). Dim 0 to 100%. The reflector is a start, not the sanctuary look. | Plug in AC, put it on a stand, and dim so faces look even. Sunday-viable after one setup. Park it off-axis. The fan is not silent. | Windows or house lights already keep faces clean, or you need battery power near the pulpit. |
| Softbox 60×90 | recommend | Modifier, not a light head. Bowens 60×90 softbox with grid. Pairs with the SL100D path. It does not compete with the head. | No output of its own. It softens and shapes the SL100D. The grid keeps spill off the back wall and choir loft. About 60×90 cm. | Mount it on the SL100D, open the rods, and hang the front diffuser plus grid. One volunteer minute. The light stand is separate. | You already have a Bowens softbox or umbrella that softens faces. Do not buy this as a light by itself. |
| SL60IID | hold | Cheaper daylight COB sibling of the SL100D. Same Bowens S front, less output. Hold for a tight budget or a smaller room. | Max 70W, 5600K. With the included reflector, about 18,600 lux at 1 m (3.3 ft). Dim 0 to 100%. Less throw than the SL100D. | Same volunteer job as the SL100D: plug in AC, put it on a stand, and dim. Fan cooled. Softbox 60×90 is still the modifier. | The sanctuary is dim enough that you want the SL100D's extra output, or you need battery power. |
Three live light listings. SL100D is the recommend head. SL60IID is the cheaper hold. The softbox is a modifier, not a second light head. Prices dated on each listing. Cameras stay on Compare PTZ. Switchers: Compare switchers. Wireless lavs: Compare wireless lav.
Default path
Dim sanctuary, faces noisy on the PTZ: SL100D on a stand with Softbox 60×90. About 100W daylight COB, Bowens S, AC only. The softbox is the companion, not a second head. That pair is the fill for a Move SE stream. Read the buyer’s guide, one volunteer Sunday, and under ~150 seats before you open a cart.
Cheap LED panel path
Hold or skip a cheap LED panel as the sanctuary key light. That class is not a listing on this site, and it is not a row in the matrix. A flat panel you already own can stay if the color is honest and you diffuse it. Do not buy a new one as the first key light when SL100D plus a softbox is the path that softens a pulpit. SL60IID is the cheaper daylight sibling: max 70W, same Bowens S front, less throw. Hold it for a tight budget or a smaller room. It does not take the recommend from SL100D. Softbox 60×90 still fits that head.
When the room is already bright
Skip a new light when windows or house lights already keep faces clean on the PTZ. Hold the SL100D if you need battery power or there is no AC near the pulpit. The fixture is AC-only. The softbox still needs that head, or another Bowens COB, plus a stand you buy separately.
