QLX-D
Shure digital half-rack above SLX-D. Hold it. BLX14/CVL stays the first pastor lav.
Why this is here: seventh pastor-audio SKU, the Shure digital half-rack above SLX-D. It is not a camera. It is not a switcher. It does not take the recommend from BLX14/CVL.
A Shure digital UHF wireless family. The clearest small-church pastor kit still sold as one box is QLXD14/93: QLXD4 half-rack receiver, QLXD1 bodypack, and WL93 omni lav. Shure’s US family page is live. The old US combo URL for this kit returned HTTP 404 on 2026-09-22, so confirm the band on a dealer cart before you buy.
This sits in front of the mixer. You still need an XLR path from the receiver into the sanctuary mix and into the stream.
Who it is for
Need and what you already own, not the QLX-D name. Whether analog BLX already works, and whether SLX-D or EW-D already covers the digital step-up, is the real question.
| Need / room | What you actually get | Fit |
|---|---|---|
| First wireless pastor lav | Analog UHF BLX kit already on this site | Stay on BLX14/CVL. Skip QLX-D. |
| Analog is maxed, and you want to stay in Shure with a cardioid lav | Digital bodypack plus WL185m | Stay on SLX-D. Skip QLX-D. |
| Sennheiser digital, app setup, metal half-rack | EW-D ME2 SET | Stay on EW-D. Skip QLX-D. |
| You already run several Shure receivers and you want Ethernet scan, Wireless Workbench, and AES-256 | QLXD14/93: QLXD4 plus QLXD1 plus WL93 omni | Hold QLX-D. Only this row. The page verdict stays hold. |
| Handheld worship or announce | QLXD2/SM58 is a transmitter on Shure.com, not a priced kit on this fetch | Not this page. Handheld digital in Shure is SLX-D SLXD24+/58. |
If you only buy one wireless pastor lav, buy BLX14/CVL. If you only buy one digital step-up, buy SLX-D or EW-D. Buy QLXD14/93 only when networked receivers are already the job.
Volunteer skill
- Scan and IR sync: Sunday-viable after one rehearsal, same idea as SLX-D. A volunteer who can sync the pack and leave the frequency alone.
- Band pick (G50, H50, or J50A on the carts below): do this once, before purchase. The US combo page 404 means a volunteer can land on the wrong band. Not a first-Sunday experiment.
- Ethernet, Wireless Workbench, and AES-256: optional power-user tools. Leave encryption off on day one. The user guide’s Err.002 is an encryption mismatch with ULX-D.
- AA or a Shure rechargeable (SB900 family) plus a charger you buy separately. Someone still checks batteries before service.
- Mixer / XLR into sanctuary and stream: still required. The receiver has XLR and 1/4 inch. Someone has to patch it.
Standout details
Facts from the Shure QLX-D family page, the QLX-D user guide version 8.2 (2025-H), and live dealer carts (fetched 2026-09-22). Prefer the user guide for RF. Prefer the dated carts for street price. B&H and Sweetwater returned HTTP 403, so they are not a price source.
- Hero kit QLXD14/93: QLXD4 half-rack receiver, QLXD1 bodypack, WL93 subminiature omni lav. Standard box also includes the power supply, two AA batteries, two half-wave antennas, BNC cables and bulkhead adapters, rackmount hardware, a zipper bag, and the user guide. Markertek’s G50 include list matches that box. That G50 cart itself is no longer available.
- WL93 is an omni electret lav for speech. It is not a cardioid WL185, and it is not the BLX CVL. The cardioid Shure digital lav already on this site is the WL185m on SLX-D.
- 24-bit digital, greater than 120 dB dynamic range (A-weighted, typical). Latency less than 2.9 ms. Range about 100 m / 328 ft line of sight.
- About 64 MHz tuning on a full band such as G50 or H50 (region dependent). Up to about 17 compatible systems per 6 MHz TV band, and about 22 per 8 MHz. More than 60 channels in one band is a spec, not a small-church need.
- Digital predictive switching diversity. IR sync. AES-256 can be enabled. Single-port Ethernet 10/100 for networked channel scan and Wireless Workbench. ShurePlus Channels is optional.
- User guide 8.2 band rows used here: G50 is 470 to 534 MHz. H50 is 534 to 598 MHz. The guide’s J50 row is 572 to 636 MHz. Pro Acoustics labels J50A as 572 to 608 plus 614 to 616 MHz. Buy the band printed on the cart. Do not assume a J50 carton that still spans 572 to 636 is legal in a repacked US zip code.
- V50 (174 to 216 MHz) and X52 (902 to 928 MHz) are on the Pro Acoustics chooser and in the guide. They are not the default sanctuary UHF pick.
- Battery table in user guide 8.2 lists SB900C and alkaline. On the 470 to 865 MHz row, SB900C is greater than 11 hours and alkaline is 8 hours. The Shure family page on the same fetch still says SB900B. Confirm the battery SKU. The charger is not in the hero street price.
- Warranty: Shure’s warranty page says one or two years and points to the card in the box. That page has no QLX-D-specific term. No dealer warranty line is recorded here because B&H and Sweetwater returned HTTP 403.
- Shure.com still lists the line as available. It does not sell QLXD14/93 as a one-click US combo on this fetch (that URL 404s). Component list prices: QLXD4 from $747.00, QLXD1 from $395.00. Family card from $973.00. Those numbers are not the kit street price.
- Related pages: BLX14/CVL, SLX-D, EW-D, SM58. Side-by-side: compare wireless lav.
- Status on this site uses words (recommend / hold / skip), not color-only cues.
Rechecked 2026-10-20: Shure listed QLX-D from $973.00. That is a starting price for the line, not a specific kit, so the QLXD14/93 kit can cost more.
Earlier check, 2026-09-22, live carts: Palen Music QLXD14/93-H50 $1,099.00 (schema.org InStock, Add to cart, Springfield pickup unavailable). That is the hero street price. Pro Acoustics QLXD14/93 $1,233.00 (schema.org InStock, usually 5 to 9 business days). Markertek QLXD14/93-G50: no longer available. Shure family from $973.00 is not this kit. B&H and Sweetwater returned HTTP 403. Confirm the cart. Confirm the band. No affiliate link on this page.
Honest verdict
Hold QLX-D. The clear kit is QLXD14/93 (H50 at Palen on this fetch). Do not let it take the recommend from BLX14/CVL.
The digital step-up already on this site is SLX-D when you want to stay in Shure with a WL185m cardioid, or EW-D when you want Sennheiser digital and the Smart Assist app. QLX-D costs more than both of those last fetches, and it asks a volunteer to pick a band on a dealer cart because the US combo page 404s.
Buy QLXD14/93 only when you already need networked Shure receivers (Ethernet scan, Wireless Workbench) and SLX-D is the thing you have outgrown. One pastor, first wireless, stays BLX.
Honest limits: band pick is mandatory, WL93 is an omni entry lav, SB900B versus SB900C is unresolved on this fetch, rechargeables and the charger are extras, warranty length is the card in the box, and you still need a mixer path. This kit does not replace a camera or a switcher. It sits in front of the mixer.
