Why this is here: fourth pastor-audio SKU after BLX14/CVL, SLX-D, and SM58. It is not a camera. It is not a switcher.
A Sennheiser digital UHF wireless family. Successor to analog Evolution G4, not compatible with old Evolution analog. For a small-church pastor who wants app-assisted digital UHF and a metal rack receiver, the default kit is EW-D ME2 SET (EW-D EM receiver, EW-D SK bodypack, ME 2 omni lav). Adjacent handheld: EW-D 835-S SET (MMD 835 capsule) for worship lead or announcements. Combo EW-D ME2/835-S SET is still one channel (lav or handheld at once, not both).
This sits in front of the mixer. You still need an XLR path from the receiver into the sanctuary mix and into the stream.
Who it is for
Need and ecosystem, not marketing names. Whether analog BLX already works, and whether you already live in Shure digital, is the useful number.

Volunteer skill
- Smart Assist (BLE) and auto-scan: Sunday-viable after one rehearsal. A volunteer who can pair the phone, run the scan, clip the pack, and leave the frequency alone. The system also works from the receiver OLED without the app.
- Band pick (Q1-6, R1-6, R4-9 in common US stock): do this once, before purchase, against local TV white space. Not a first-Sunday experiment.
- AA or optional BA 70 Li-ion (about 8 hours AA / about 12 hours BA 70). Someone still has to check batteries before service. BA 70 and the L 70 charger are extras, not in the hero street price.
- Mixer / XLR into sanctuary and stream: still required. The receiver has XLR and 1/4 inch. Someone has to patch it.

Recommend the EW-D ME2 SET as the Sennheiser digital wireless pastor-lav option for a small church that wants app-assisted digital UHF and a metal rack receiver, often street-cheaper than Shure SLXD14+/85M (about $919 on the last SLX-D fetch).
Recommend EW-D 835-S SET when handheld worship or announce is the need. Hold / skip the ME2/835-S combo as the default buy (single receiver cannot run lav and handheld at once).
Stay on BLX14/CVL if first wireless under about $360. Stay on / prefer SLX-D if you already live in the Shure ecosystem or want a WL185m cardioid lav specifically.
