Verdict: hold
Tenveo 20x
A family of 1080p 20x PTZ cameras sold under a pile of model names. HDMI, USB 3.0, and LAN on the common bodies. Some SKUs add NDI|HX2, 3G-SDI, or a tally light. Power from the included 12V brick or from PoE.
This is not one camera. VHD20H, VX20M-N, and VL20N are different carts. Read the model string before you pay.
Who it is for
Seat count and room, not marketing names. Tenveo does not publish an official tracking distance the way PTZOptics does. Optical zoom is the number you can trust.
| Body | What it actually is | Ports | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| VHD20H | 1080p60, 20x, AI tracking on current Amazon units | HDMI, USB 3.0, LAN. No SDI. No NDI. | Default budget body. USB into a laptop, or HDMI into a switcher. |
| VX20M-N | 1080p60, 20x, presenter and auto-framing, tally | HDMI, 3G-SDI, USB 3.0, LAN, NDI HX2 | Buy this only if you need SDI or NDI on this brand. |
| VL20N | Conference-shaped 1080p60 20x | HDMI, USB 3.0, LAN. NDI is a variant, not the base cart. | Same job as VHD20H. Confirm NDI in the SKU if you need it. |
If you only buy one Tenveo 20x for a small church, buy the VHD20H unless you already know you need SDI or NDI.
Volunteer skill
- USB 3.0 into a laptop running OBS: a Sunday volunteer who can plug in a cable. This is the easy path.
- HDMI into a switcher: someone who already runs a hardware or software switcher.
- PoE plus NDI: only on NDI-named SKUs, and only with a PoE (802.3af) switch. Not the first Sunday, and not if you bought the base VHD20H by accident.
- Picking the SKU: this is the hard part. A volunteer who cannot decode VHD20H vs VHD20HAN vs VX20M-N vs a 4K bundle should not be on Amazon at 11pm Saturday.
Auto-tracking is on the current VHD20H and VX20M-N pages. Gesture control on the Amazon VHD20H listing is rated 5-8 m (16-26 ft). That is not a back-wall sanctuary tracker. Set presets. Do not pretend this follows a pastor down the aisle from 75 ft.
Standout details
Facts from Tenveo US store pages, the Amazon VHD20H listing, and B&H search (fetched 2026-08-30):
- VHD20H: 1080p60. Sony 1/2.8 inch CMOS, 2.07M pixels. Lens f=4.95-99 mm, F1.7-3.7. Wide field of view listed at 63.1 degrees. Simultaneous HDMI + USB 3.0 + LAN. PoE is 802.3af. No 3G-SDI. No NDI on this SKU. NDI is the VHD20HAN / VX20M-N / VL20N-NDI line.
- VX20M-N: 1080p60. Sony 1/2.8 inch CMOS, 8.29M pixels. FOV 63.1 degrees wide to 3.7 degrees tele. HDMI, 3G-SDI, USB 3.0, LAN. NDI|HX2, not HX3. Tally lamp. Presenter tracking and auto framing. RS-232 / RS-485 / USB / RJ45. RTSP, RTMP, VISCA over IP, ONVIF, SRT.
- 255 presets via serial; about 10 on the IR remote. Pan 350 degrees (+/-175), tilt 180 degrees (+/-90).
- Three-year warranty on current Tenveo US and Amazon copy. That is two years shorter than PTZOptics Move SE.
- No built-in mic. Indoor. Typical finish is black. Status on this site uses words, not color-only cues.
- 4K Tenveo bodies exist and share the same 20x marketing. They are a different cart. Do not buy 4K because the search said 20x.
- SKU soup is the real product. B&H also lists NVMAX620A / NVMAX620A-N around the mid $600s. Same brand, different body, different ports. Match the model string, not the zoom number.
Street prices, 2026-08-30: Amazon VHD20H $379 ($339 after a $40 coupon), in stock, sold by Tenveo. Tenveo US store VHD20H $379 and VX20M-N $419, both sold out. B&H TEVO-VL20N $389 and NVMAX620A-N $649, in stock on that search. Confirm the cart. No affiliate link on this page.
Honest verdict
Hold. This is the cheap 20x churches find when they search Amazon. It can work. It is not the first camera to buy if you can stretch to a Move SE 20x.
Buy a VHD20H only if the budget is hard-capped near $400, your stream is 1080p USB or HDMI, and you will set presets for wide, pulpit, and music stand. Buy VX20M-N only if you need SDI or NDI|HX2 on this brand and you have confirmed that exact model is in the cart.
Skip the whole Tenveo 20x line if you need a published tracking distance, a five-year warranty, native NDI HX3, or a volunteer who should not have to decode SKU names. That money belongs on Move SE.
Auto-tracking is a helper at short range. Gesture control on the VHD20H listing tops out around 16-26 ft. A camera on the back wall of a typical sanctuary is farther than that. Presets are the plan. Tracking is not.
PoE is 802.3af on the pages we fetched. That is easier than Move 4K’s PoE+. The trap here is buying a non-NDI body and expecting NDI, or a non-SDI body and expecting SDI.
Compared with Move SE: you pay about a third, you get a three-year warranty, thinner US dealer coverage, NDI only on some SKUs (HX2, not HX3), and no official tracking-distance number. If none of those limits change Sunday, and $1,099 is possible, buy Move SE instead.
