Verdict: hold
FoMaKo
A family of 1080p 20x PTZ cameras sold under a pile of model names. HDMI and USB on the common bodies. Some SKUs add NDI HX3, 3G-SDI, an LCD for the IP address, or a 4K sensor. Power from the included 12V brick or from PoE.
This is not one camera. FMK20UH NDI and FMK20SDI Pro are different carts. Read the model string before you pay.
Who it is for
Seat count and room, not marketing names. FoMaKo does not publish an official tracking distance the way PTZOptics does. Optical zoom is the number you can trust.
| Body | What it actually is | Ports | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| FMK20UH NDI | 1080p60, 20x, AI tracking Gen 3, NDI 6 and NDI HX3 certified | HDMI, USB 3.0, LAN with NDI. No SDI. No LCD. Belt drive. | Default budget body if you want NDI or USB into a laptop. |
| FMK20SDI Pro | 1080p60, 20x, AI tracking Gen 3, LCD shows IP | HDMI, 3G-SDI, USB 3.0, LAN. NDI is an upgrade, not in the cart. Gear drive. | Buy this only if you need SDI into a hardware switcher. |
If you only buy one FoMaKo 20x for a small church, buy the FMK20UH NDI unless you already know you need SDI.
Volunteer skill
- USB 3.0 into a laptop running OBS: a Sunday volunteer who can plug in a cable. This is the easy path on the UH body.
- HDMI or SDI into a switcher: someone who already runs a hardware or software switcher. SDI is the FMK20SDI Pro only.
- PoE plus NDI: only on NDI-named SKUs, and only with a PoE (802.3af) switch. Not the first Sunday, and not if you bought the SDI Pro and assumed NDI was included.
- Picking the SKU: this is the hard part. A volunteer who cannot decode FMK20UH vs FMK20UH NDI vs FMK20SDI Pro vs a 4K K20NS bundle should not be on Amazon at 11pm Saturday.
Auto-tracking is Gen 3 on both bodies. FoMaKo does not publish a tracking distance. Set presets for wide, pulpit, and music stand. Do not pretend this follows a pastor down the aisle from the back wall.
Standout details
Facts from FoMaKo spec pages, the Amazon FMK20UH NDI listing, B&H product pages, and FoMaKo FAQ (fetched 2026-08-31):
- FMK20UH NDI: 1080p60. 1/2.8 inch CMOS, 2.07M pixels. Lens f=5.05–91.49 mm, F1.8–F2.9. Wide field of view 60°, tele 3.5°. Simultaneous HDMI + USB 3.0 + LAN. Official NDI 6 and NDI HX3 certified. PoE on the LAN port. No 3G-SDI. No LCD. Belt transmission. 3.5 mm audio in. 255 presets via serial; about 10 on the IR remote. Pan ±170°, tilt -90° to +90°.
- FMK20SDI Pro: 1080p60. 1/2.8 inch CMOS, 2.07M pixels. Lens f=5.1–90.5 mm, F1.8–F2.9. Wide field of view 60°, tele 3.5°. HDMI, 3G-SDI, USB 3.0, LAN. LCD for IP and resolution. Gear transmission. NDI is upgradeable, not included. PoE (802.3af 48V on the Amazon copy). Pan ±170°, tilt -30° to +90°. Firmware is X300-platform only. Installing the wrong image bricks the camera.
- 4K FoMaKo bodies (K20NS, K20UH, K820N) share the same 20x marketing. They are a different cart. Do not buy 4K because the search said 20x.
- Finish is gray or black on the UH NDI. B&H split those into two SKUs. Status on this site uses words, not color-only cues.
- Warranty on current Amazon and FAQ copy is one year, plus an optional three-year trade-in at half the original price. Some SDI Pro marketing still says “3-year limited.” That is not the same as PTZOptics’ five-year warranty or Tenveo’s three-year repair. Match the cart, not the banner.
- Official store is quote-only. Street price is Amazon and B&H. Support email on the site is in Shenzhen.
Street prices, 2026-08-31: Amazon FMK20UH NDI $309, in stock, sold by FoMaKo. B&H FMK20UH NDI gray $311 and black $349, both in stock. B&H FMK20SDI Pro $431.10, in stock. Amazon FMK20SDI Pro had no featured offer. Sweetwater search returned no listing. Confirm the cart. No affiliate link on this page.
Honest verdict
Hold. This is the cheap 20x churches find when they search Amazon and want NDI without paying Move SE money. It can work. It is not the first camera to buy if you can stretch to a Move SE 20x.
Buy an FMK20UH NDI only if the budget is hard-capped near $310, your stream is 1080p, and you will set presets. The gray B&H cart and the Amazon cart were the cheap ones on this fetch. Buy FMK20SDI Pro only if you need SDI on this brand and you have confirmed that exact model is in the cart. Do not pay for NDI twice: the SDI Pro does not include it.
Skip the whole FoMaKo 20x line if you need a published tracking distance, a five-year warranty, US dealer coverage you already trust, or a volunteer who should not have to decode SKU names. That money belongs on Move SE.
Auto-tracking is a helper. There is no official tracking-distance number. A camera on the back wall of a typical sanctuary is a preset job. Tracking is not the plan.
The NDI trap is the same shape as Tenveo, inverted: FMK20UH NDI actually has NDI HX3 in the name. FMK20SDI Pro does not. PoE is 802.3af on the pages we fetched.
Compared with Tenveo 20x: you pay about the same or a little less for a body that already has NDI HX3, you get a one-year warranty instead of three, and B&H actually shelves it. Compared with Move SE: you pay about a third, you give up the five-year warranty, published tracking distance, and the “one body, HDMI plus SDI plus USB plus IP” cart. If none of those limits change Sunday, and $1,099 is possible, buy Move SE instead.
